Pumpkin Pickin'

Our neighbor across the street planted an entire section of his yard with pumpkins. He called over the weekend and told us we could come over and pick what we would like. So we took advantage of the GREAT weather and went over last night. Garrett and Conner had a ball!
There were pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. They were excited and yelling each time they moved a plant and found a new one.

Conner spent a lot of time singing the Barney Pumpkin Patch song!

Ready for the wagon ride home with their treasures!
Thank you to Ed and Twila for the family fun, now all we have to do is carve them in time for Halloween!

Conner's 3rd Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CONNER!

Elizabeth had Conner's birthday party in the park this afternoon, and by luck the rain held off until it was over. Conner has decided he loves Mickey Mouse, and as you can see that was the theme of the party complete with pinata!

It only took the kids a few wacks to get all of the candy!

Conner opened all of his presents, and of course couldn't wait to play with the balls that he got. There were Thomas decorations for his bedroom, lots of trucks and cars, and a new scooter so he can be just like Uncle Garrett.
When we got home, he was extremely excited to play with his "guitar hero." I don't know why I didn't think to buy him a little guitar earlier so he won't fuss when everyone else is playing it on the Wii.
Well this was the first party that Elizabeth has thrown by herself, she did a great job. Decorations, food and cake all coordinated!
Thank you to everyone who attended and made the afternoon a success, we love you all!

Conner's Favorite

Conner loves COWS! We had the pleasure this past weekend to eat at Chick-fil-la, and their mascot is a cow. Conner was in fascinated, both he and Garrett have a new favorite restaurant.

The food is GREAT! My entire family wishes we had one close here in Pennsylvania. One of our last stops on the way home was in Hagerstown, MD for dinner. When we arrived a huge 7 foot tall cow walked out of the store. Conner was thrilled and fascinated, I tried to convince him that he needed to eat and then we would see the cow, but that was not possible. He could not stop watching the cow. SO.... outside we went to meet the cow. I am sure that this was the highlight of his weekend trip. He is still talking about it five days later.

Weekend in West Virginia

Well as I mentioned in my last post, we spent Labor Day weekend in West Virginia to attend my Family reunion. It is always great to go and see everyone, but the drive is long! This was Conner's first long car trip, it had its interesting moments.

This is always one of my favorite views early on in the trip and I always take a picture, I am sure I have 50 pictures of just these two mountains, but I am always compelled.

Our reunion is held at Grandview State Park. The views are breathtaking, there is no possible way to capture the beauty from the overlook with a camera. I could stand here for hours and just look!

Right before we left the kids finally decided they could all pose for one picture. Doesn't Garrett look thrilled?

There were deer all over the park, Pappy Bob and Conner went for a walk when there were a few in the field to see how close they could get.
At the end of the weekend, there was the dreaded ride home. Nine hours again! But on the way home I was thinking about how great it was to see family that we have not seen in four years. I wish we lived closer so that visiting was easier. Garrett would like to live in West Virgina because there are kids all over the place, he would like to know how soon we could go back. He didn't mind the car ride as much as everyone else.
